Why I’m Running
Article 6 of the Vermont Constitution says that [Officers Servants of the people] “ That all power being inherent in and consequently derived from the people, therefore, all officers of government, whether legislative or executive, are their trustees and servants, and at all times, in a legal way, accountable to them.” That is the law of the land!
I believe that in the Vermont legislature, new laws that are redundant, underfunded, and unenforceable have been enacted. Some of these laws have in effect, limited our constitutional rights and I want to change that.
During the pandemic, I watched the legislative process on ZOOM and YouTube. I didn’t like what I saw. The state government is over-regulating our daily lives, and taxing us to death. Special-interest groups are influencing how our government creates and enforces our laws and spends our money. I want to change that.
I’ve traveled across Rutland County and have had the pleasure of listening to my fellow Vermonters as we have discussed many issues that affect all of our lives. Most of them have become apathetic so they don’t bother to vote. Many believe that what they want, think and say doesn’t matter to their elected officials and that many of those elected officials will just do what they want, regardless of what we the people want. I want to change that.
I believe in our political process. I have always supported the constitutions of the United States and Vermont and will continue to defend the rights of our citizens to express their 1st amendment right. I want to do more to maintain our freedoms for you and our grandchildren. That’s why I am running.
If you elect me to the Vermont Senate, I promise that you will always know what is going on in the state house and I will never forget that the people put me there. Please encourage those who you know haven’t registered to vote to do so, and then offer them a ride to the polling place on August 9th and November 8th 2022.
